That's Martha Stewarts In Training...
So my good friend Sarah had this idea...
See we are both a little crafty (she more than I...)
and she had this vision - Easter Basket decorations for our mantles.
So we shopped and found just the right baskets, just the right flowers,
the perfect ribbon & decided we needed to make our own glittery eggs
(the ones we found just didn't live up to our very high standards.)
Anyway, all the prep took about a week, and so today, we decided to actually make them.
At first, things were a little dicey. The flower arranging was not going so well and the glittering of the eggs was just short of disastrous. (OK, maybe it wasn't all that bad, but I'm just trying to make this story more exciting to you. It was very exciting living it!) We laughed hysterically, we almost cried, and then all of a sudden they were cute! I guess it's one of those endure to the end things. Anyhow, we are quite proud of them. So much so, that we are already brainstorming which holiday/season to make them for next! We've got great plans for a Halloween one, but in Sarah's words...
"That's too far away!"
Any suggestions?
So here are the pictures of our finished Easter Baskets...
Thanks Sarah for the great idea & the fun afternoon!
(and thank you Heather for laughing with us all those miles away!)

Sarah & I with said darling Easter Baskets.
Nolan, loved playing with the pre-painted eggs, I think he absconded with a few...

Oh, yeah! We are going to add little chicks to the handles, near the top. So you'll just have to picture that part, but goodness - So cute!!!
